Thursdays on First & 3rd Summer Market & Music Festival is a weekly outdoor market of over 100 art, craft and food vendors and live entertainment every Thursday throughout the summer. Thursdays on First & 3rd begins on June 2nd and runs until August 25th. Thursdays on First & 3rd is an event that unites the Rochester community and provides a free option to simply enjoy life, feel a sense of place, and interact with others!

Sit back and relax with friends and family as musical talent is featured from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. Stick around for the Music Festival performances at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM on two stages!

Jurassic Quest 

Jurassic Quest is the LARGEST, most realistic dinosaur event on the continent. They have an exhibit that walks you through the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, NEW walking dinosaur rides, fossil digs, dinosaur rides, dinosaur cinema, science station, dinosaur bounce houses, and MUCH MORE! There will be huge, life-size, animatronic Dinosaurs (and baby ones too)!

Flying Dragons with Quarry Hill Nature Center

Did you know flying dragons exist? They do! They’re called dragonflies and they hatch right out of the water! Join the Quarry Hill Staff around the pond as you learn all about the lifecycle of a dragonfly. You’ll do a fun dragonfly craft and then you will grab nets to go search for baby dragonflies living in the shallows of the pond!

Art4Trails Sculpture Ride & Park Party

The doors will be open for an expanded Free Think and Do Family Day at the Rochester Art Center. With bike riding, art making activities, live music, lawn games and good times in Mayo Park, immediately behind the Rochester Art Center.  There will also be a cake worthy of a 70th Anniversary along with other fun treats!

Start out the afternoon with  Art4Trails for an art filled bike trail ride to celebrate the unveiling of five new sculpture installations featuring local artists. The Art4Trails bike ride starts at noon at Silver Lake Park and ends at approx. 1pm at Mayo Park.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? All ages are welcome!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Parking will be available at the Civic Center Parking Ramp, but biking is encouraged!

Move It! with the Children’s Museum of Rochester

Get the scoop on an exciting new exhibit that lets you load, haul, and transport blocks and balls. And once you’ve moved the items, you can unload, transfer, dump and play. Move It! is all about getting things from here to there. Using wheelbarrows, buckets and a conveyor belt, this open-ended, loose parts experience is inspired by imagination and shaped by the desire or need to move things. Children will make this work look like child’s play.

How is a salamander like a frog? They are both amphibians! Let’s salute the salamander and learn all about this wet, wild and wonderful animal.
